Community Futures is a community based economic renewal initiative established by the federal government in 1985. Helping rural Canadians to start or expand a business and improve local economies. There are 269 Community Futures Offices located through rural Canada.

Social finance

Community Futures of Prince Edward/Lennox & Addington (PELA CFDC) is a community-based social enterprise whose objective is to encourage local entrepreneurship and economic development through impact investing. The organization provides social finance that includes loans, grants, and business advisory services.  The experienced social finance team can provide connections to our network of entrepreneurs, investors, and community groups. The organization is governed by a board of local volunteers, and is partially funded by the Government of Canada.
